School Secretary

at Orchard House School

Upon the move of the school's senior secretary to the rôle of registrar, this highly successful and well regarded IAPS preparatory school in Chiswick requires a highly efficient 'can-do' multi-tasking person in the busy office, to work full-time from Monday to Friday in term-time and for occasional short sessions during the school holidays.

As co-secretary, the successful candidate will have excellent IT/MS Office (MS Word™, Excel™, database merge) capabilities together with good people-management skills. He or she will work alongside the school's other secretary and will report to the headmistress. Experience working in a school and/or with children may be an advantage. Together with good written English, accuracy and attention to detail are also essential. The work is always varied and yields high job satisfaction.

Salary will depend upon experience and the proportion of the year to be worked (about 40 weeks) but will be equivalent to the rate for a PA to a partner in a central London law firm.

References will be essential; the school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with previous employers and an enhanced check with the Criminal Records Bureau.
